Human Machine Interface (HMI)

HMI is user interface in a manufacturing or process control system. It provides a graphics-based visualization of an industrial control and monitoring system. OI (Operator Interface) or OIT (Operator Interface Terminal) is a lower-level graphical interface to controller(s) on the plant floor. Typically built into a ruggedized terminal for shop floor use, it provides a remote interface to push buttons, switches and gauges found on the equipment itself.
