ABOUT THE PLANT
At full power, AHD power plant generates 2100 MW.
Each of the 12 units comprises:

• turbine - Frances type, max. gross head 74m,
• generator - 60 pole, 100rpm, 180 MW max, 15.75 kV
• unit transformer - 500kV.

AHD power plant is appointed the leading role in the region's power generation and distribution system covering Egypt, Libya, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon.

ABOUT THE CONTROL SYSTEM
Power generation and distribution in “AHD" is monitored and controlled by ABB Advant products family equipment:

• Process controllers - AdvantController 450 (17 units)
• Operator stations - AdvantStation 500 OS - (3 units)
• Operator stations - Windows NT based PC application (2 units)
• Information Management Station - PC based application - (2 units)
• Local Viewers - PC based application - (26 units)

ABOUT ORDER AND PROJECT
This order and project comprize ABB DCS extension and modification due to generating unit 11 rehabilitation. Main contractor is Voith Hydro GmbH & Co. KG.

DELIVERY SCOPE
Works

• Installation of interface I/O hardware according to the contract.
• Implementation of I/O signals into DCS for Monitoring System, Excitation System RTDs, Protection and Sub-System in compliance with existing rules and procedures (alarm and event treatment, light and annunciation system).
• Modification of DCS unit control logic (start and stop sequence).
• DCS process display modifications.

Equipment
According to order, INTEA delivered all required hardware and equipment to obtain required functionality.

OUTCOME
Complete satisfaction of the client and end-user regarding delivered equipment and works is explicitly confirmed in commissioning and delivery record.
